“I’m convinced that we Black women possess a special indestructible strength that allows us to not only get down, but to get up, to get through, and to get over.” - Janet Jackson

For Black History Month I want to honour the beauty and power of the black woman. They say the most discriminated group in western society is the black woman and that's telling because hate forms when you misunderstand, are ignorant of or threatened by an individual.  It is that indisputable, indestructible, unmatched strength of a black woman that is miscalculated by society. For it is the strength of the black woman who despite being trodden on rose up from the ground to raise her kids, who was uprooted but yet laid the foundation for her community, who was despised but continued to served. It was that strength that despite being overlooked drove her to form her own vision. One that would be better for you and me.

So to all my beautiful black women both past, present and future I salute you!!!
